Overview of Position
This is a stipend position as outlined in the appendix of the collective bargaining agreement for Certificated Non-Supervisory staff (please see the stipend salary schedule on our website for the additional stipend amount of this position). This position does not hold a classroom teaching assignment in addition to House Administrator duties. Responsibilities include implementing the student discipline and attendance programs for an elementary or middle school, maintaining liaison with parents on discipline and attendance, and supervising school building and grounds to enforce appropriate student conduct.

Position reports to: Assigned Principal

Essential Functions
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Administers student discipline and District policies and procedures related to student conduct, discipline and student rights and responsibilities; maintains building standards for student conduct; recommends suspensions and expulsions for administrative approval. (20% of the time)

2. Administers the student attendance program; works with students having attendance problems. (20% of the time)

3. Supervises students on campus, in lunchrooms, hallways, classes, on buses, in activities and co-curricular programs, and other programs held under District sanction. (10% of the time)

4. Maintains liaison with parents on discipline and attendance matters; contacts parents as needed; conducts parent, student and teacher conferences on discipline and attendance; maintains positive public and community relations. (10% of the time)

5. Conducts investigations related to student conduct and complaints; coordinates with school security,k police, parents, students, the community, the public and other agencies; provides recommendations to administrators as appropriate. (10%)

6. Patrols school facility and grounds; stops and questions students, non-students and adults on campus; intercedes in altercations as appropriate; operates radio for communication with office. (10%)

7. Serves as member of building instructional council; attends meetings; communicates information; participates in instructional development within school; provides a variety of insights, recommendations and reports; assists in implementing building decisions. (5%)

8. In close cooperation with Principal and/or Assistant Principal, provides input to staff evaluation as appropriate. (5%)

9. Depending upon building needs, the House Administrator may perform some or a combination of the following: Facilitates and/or participates on building teams; prepares reports and statistics; maintains records and files; attends District administrator meetings; assists with operational support for the building, such as budget development, inventory, requisitions, safety inspections and drills, coordinating building and equipment use, responding to inquiries, coordinating building volunteers, participating in selection committees and other such tasks as assigned. (5%)

Typical Qualifications
Education:

Bachelor’s degree and valid teacher’s certification.
Preferred:

Master’s degree.
Years of Experience:

At least one (1) year’s successful teaching experience.
Certifications & Licenses:

Valid Washington State Teacher or ESA Certificate.
Preferred:

Administrative credentials.
Clearances:

Criminal Justice Fingerprint & Background Check.
