Visiting Lecturer of Japanese Studies, Middlebury College, MIDDLEBURY, VT.The Department of Japanese Studies at Middlebury College invites applicants for a one-year full-time position in Japanese Studies beginning Fall 2026. Ideal candidates will be interested in working in a collaborative environment in a liberal arts college setting. Applicants must have native or near-native command of Japanese and should have at least one year of language teaching experience. All requirements for the MA should be completed by August 2026. Candidates must show evidence and/or promise of excellence in teaching students from diverse backgrounds. The teaching load for this position is five courses per year.Teaching responsibilities will include at least one Japanese language course each semester and, if applicable, courses in area of specialization taught in English. As part of a full teaching load, the candidate will also contribute to Middlebury’s Winter Term course offerings.

This is a full time, benefits eligible, salaried position with a hiring range of $74,061-$77,083 per year.
