What you’ll do

Assist in the preparation of sushi and other Japanese dishes under the guidance of skilled chefs.
Learn and practice essential knife skills to create beautiful and precise cuts for sushi ingredients.
Participate in menu planning by suggesting innovative ideas and seasonal ingredients.
Ensure all food handling and safety standards are met to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Support the kitchen team with food preparation tasks, including cooking and meal assembly.
Gain experience in catering events by assisting with large-scale sushi orders and presentations.
Collaborate with team members to provide exceptional food service during busy shifts.

Basic qualifications

A strong interest in culinary arts and willingness to learn about sushi preparation.
Basic knowledge of food safety practices and kitchen hygiene standards.

Preferred qualifications

Familiarity with food preparation, and cooking techniques.
Experience in restaurant or catering settings is highly desirable.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Pay: $20.00 – $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 35.0 per week
