We have an opportunity in our Vonore, TN manufacturing plant for a Human Resources Coordinator who provides essential administrative and operational support to the HR department and plays a key role in ensuring the smooth execution of employee programs, accurate recordkeeping, and timely coordination of HR activities. Summary/Purpose
The Human Resources Coordinator provides essential administrative and operational support to the HR department. This role ensures smooth execution of employee programs, accurate recordkeeping, and timely coordination of HR activities.
Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
- Data entry for work reports and other essential data entry.
- Coordinate monthly birthday meetings, service recognition events, and retirement celebrations.
- Create and distribute new hire certificates and service recognition certificates.
- Sort and distribute incoming HR and company mail daily.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel files in accordance with company policy and compliance standards.
- Process Form I-9 documentation, verify employment eligibility, and maintain all required records in compliance with federal regulations.
- Plan catering and event needs for HR meetings, training sessions, and employee events.
- Prepare new hire packets, ensuring all required documents are included and completed.
- Provide general administrative support to the HR department, including data entry, filing, and responding to employee inquiries.
- Provide HR assistance, documentation guidance, and communication support to expat employees to help them adjust successfully.
- Assist mail distribution, fax machine, copy machines
- Provide telephone relief as needed
- Work daily overtime and Saturdays and/or Sundays when directed by immediate supervisor or, as necessary, to complete essential job duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong organizational skills, able to work well under pressure and manage several tasks simultaneously.
- Self-motivated and able to work without close supervision
- Ability to handle confidential information and maintain the highest legal and ethical standards
- Basic knowledge of applicable quality, health, safety, and environmental management systems
- Ability to speak and understand Japanese preferred to support expat employees.
Education and Experience:
- Associate’s degree in business or related field, 2 years related experience
This position is posted as a Human Resources Coordinator, with level and pay grade determined based on experience and qualifications.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- Sit with intermittent walking
- Manual dexterity for such duties as stapling, collating, sorting, filing, typing, and writing
- Communicate (hearing and speech) with individuals in person and by phone
- Visually read reports, computer screen, etc.
- Maintain a minimum of 8 hours worked/day, 5 days/week
