Japanese Language Teacher for Children in Novi, MI

Join the Global LT community and help provide language lessons to business professionals and their families worldwide. We are hiring a Japanese Language Teacher to provide in-person, customized lessons to our client in Novi.

Job Information:

• Students: Three children – aged 5, 10, and 13 – taking separate, back-to-back lessons
• Location: Lessons are to be held at the students’ home in Novi, MI 48374 (9 Mile and Taft Rd)
• Availability: Tuesdays and Thursdays between 4 and 8pm
• Lesson frequency: Once per week
• Lesson duration: 30 minutes for 5-year-old child; 45 minutes for 13-year-old child; 60 minutes for 10-year-old child
• Current Japanese level: Complete beginner
• Native and other spoken languages: German and English
• Students’ language needs and goals: The students are relocating to Japan in August. They need to learn age-appropriate Japanese. Building vocabulary. Safety and emergency information.

Responsibilities:

• Delivering tailored, dynamic, effective, and engaging lessons
• Developing curricula based on learners’ proficiency level and desired outcomes
• Monitoring students’ progress and guiding learners toward learning goals
• Communicating in an efficient, effective, and professional manner

Qualifications:

• Native or near-native written and spoken proficiency in Japanese
• Degree or certification in language teaching, education, instructional design, writing, language, linguistics, second language acquisition, or related field
• Minimum of two years’ teaching experience
