Assistant Sushi Chef – Luxury Private Community

Position Summary
Reporting to the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef, the Assistant Sushi Chef plays a key role in delivering an exceptional, high-end dining experience for residents and guests within an exclusive private community. This role requires precision, creativity, and a strong commitment to quality, consistency, and personalized service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present premium sushi and Japanese-inspired dishes with a focus on quality, craftsmanship, and visual appeal
  • Consistently provide professional, warm, and anticipatory service tailored to residents’ preferences
  • Support the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations, stepping into various roles as needed
  • Ensure all sushi and menu items are prepared according to established recipes, standards, and luxury service expectations
  • Maintain expert knowledge of menu offerings, seasonal features, and specialty items
  • Uphold proper handling, storage, and rotation of all seafood and ingredients to ensure maximum freshness and minimize waste
  • Maintain impeccable cleanliness and organization of all workstations, tools, and equipment
  • Adherent to all kitchen policies, service standards, and food safety regulations
  • Collaborate seamlessly with culinary and service teams to deliver a refined, cohesive dining experience
  • Assist with special events, private dining experiences, and customized resident requests

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Sushi Chef or in a sushi role
  • Culinary diploma or relevant certification preferred
  • Strong knowledge of traditional and contemporary sushi techniques
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high standards
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven ability to remain composed and efficient in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment
  • Highly dependable, professional, and discreet
  • Team-oriented mindset with a passion for hospitality and guest satisfaction
